I'm not sure if Omark is on the block or not right now. I think the Oilers, if they had a decent offer for Hemsky, would have dealt him 10 times already. Omark could be his replacement, hence why he hasn't been dealt.

All our vets stink... all of them... even jones is doing grade A nothing... Smytty aint winning anyone over too much either... if we resign him I hope its only a year... I wait for the day we bury Horcoff in the minors... gags finished with 1 less win on the dot then him and that is all he brings when looking soley on stats... Hemmer- why would any fan want to sign him back here for 4-5 mill that some are forecasting is beyond me... its time to move the team forward and place the vets that used to play well for the oilers in a (frank)ing time capsule!

i think he can be legit top 6 forward, sure he needs some seasoning of when to turn off the theatrics, but having him in the AHL wont teach him that.
Call him up, let him run show for a while, im sure he will figure it out and be a decent forward.

Or trade him to Detroit and let datsyuk teach him his ways.

Cloutier not every prospect turns into a top 4 d-man or top six forward.

That is the thing we must be getting severely bad offers for hemsky as if they were anything of value one would tend to think we would pull the trigger... most of the vets on this team are just taking away ice time from players that need experience in order to build on and move forward... the only vet that I have liked most of the season is Sutton and he is either in the pressbox for some unknown (frank)ing reason or shannaban'd...

So why do you think the team has been so good at home but so bad in the road??

It sure is not because of the vet performances on this team either on the road or at home.

Maybe so. But I'm pretty sure most prospects can read a blog a bit better than you do. As I said, the Oilers need 2 of the D to turn out, and 1 of the goalies.

Agreed with everything since I comment while back about not needing D because of prospects the Oilers got coming but I did say we need more Forwards RW specifically...

Line 1= Taylor Hall - Ganger - Jordan Eberle

Line 2= PRV - Nudge - Linus Omark (maybe)

Line 3= Ben Eager or Hartikainen - Lander - (trade)RW

Line 4= Ryan Jones - Pitlick - (trade)RW

And that's still not a sure thing. If you count Matt Greene as a drafted success in 2002 (and I do), the last D-man the Oilers drafted before him to make an impact was Tom Poti in 1996. That's 6 years of shooting blanks when it comes to D-men.

And after Matt Greene? Petry and Peckham in 2006, 4 years later.

Sure, Stu is a genius and is way better than the Pendergast Group but you still need to be reasonable. The majority of kids who get drafted DO NOT make the NHL. Even less make a significant impact. Prospects, especially defensive ones, are not sure things and can't be counted on to make the jump. So to think that the Oilers are set back there because they will get one of Klefbom, Marincin, Gernat, etc. to make the jump is a little optimistic.
